Esther Gokhale is unique in that she has A LOT of first-hand experience traveling the world and studying various cultures’ bodies, body positions, spine health, and movement practices. Some of her points of view contradict other people’s whose points of view I hold as equally relevant and accurate. Sitting and human bodies are so diverse physically, culturally, historically, etc. that holding one single point of view on a topic rarely does any justice at scale. Perhaps sampling from Katy Bowman, Kelly Starrett, and others all at once, rather than choosing one favorite is most helpful.

Kelly Starrett talks some problems with sitting

Katy Bowman Article – “Are you still sitting?”

Is it really just about sitting? Katy Bowman Article – “Your position in life.”

Katy Bowman Article – “Thinking outside the chair.”

Katy Bowman Article – “Sitting is awesome.”
